Second grade: Almost unsaleable; 180 s to 184 s. Cheese.—Quiet; 92s to 935. Frozen Meat.—The market for wethers is dull and unchanged. Ewes firm and moderate business has been done. Lambs are in short supply anil prices are nominal. The beef marker, is inclined to be firmer. Wethers, light B'[d to 9ld per lb, heavy 7;jd to 81-d per lb; ewes 6.Jd to 7-fd per lb; lambs, new season’s Australian, 124 d to 13d per lb; ox, hinds 5.',d to old per l)b, fores 41d to 4-jd per lb. The large herd of 68 coavs came before the buyers in very good order. With the exceptjpp of 8 the lot Avere in mirk. Despite the fact that the seaspn is now well advanced, there was spirited competition, the Avhole heard making an average price of £lO. W-e quote: Light fat cows, £5 2 S 6d to £5 7s Gd; forward cows to £4; heavy works bills, £5 15s; 2-year empty _ heifers (Jersey cross) £3 7s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 11s; Shorthorn yea? ling, 295; dairy cows to £5. WAIKATO 1 MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report: Reef. —The market continues firm for prime steer and cow beef, with good yardings and prices if anything a little firmer.
Sheep.—Pat shorn sheep are now coming forward in good numbers, and meeting with ready sale at firm, prices, with a tendency to .still improve. Store Cattle.—The yardings have been big of mostly dairy heifers, the supply being more than the demand, with prices for this class somewhat easier. Store cows have been in demand ; also all classes of steers are finding readv sale at good money. Lambs.—-Exporters are offering up to 10|d for November delivery. Store 'Sheep.—There is- still a good enquiry for. aili classes of stores, ewes with' lambs and 2 and 4-tooth, wethers changing hands at high prices with not ai great number offering. Dairy Cattle.—We have about come to the tail end of the dairy’s, with ljttle enquiry for this class. Pigs.—Fat pigs and porkers are in demand at about o.j-d to 6d, with good yardings; also a very keen demand exists for all classes of .stores.
Horses. —Good heavy draughts and useful farm horses are finding ready sale, with little demand for light liorses. SHIPMENTS OF MEAT FROM SOUTH AMERICA. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received a cable from its representative at Buenos Aires, South America, advising the following (shipments to- the United Kingdom for the fortnight ended November 15. 1924, from Argentine and Uruguay: 1,18.350 quarters chilled beef, 10,701 quarters frozen beef, 23,926 carcases frozen mutton, 21,606 carcases frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period totalled: 224,950 quarters frozen beef. 18,387 carcases frozen mutton.
