MISHAP TO THE RAMA. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. . WELLINGTON. Nov. 19. Captain E. Cartener, of the ill-fated steamer Rama, which struck when going out of Kaingaroa harbour (Chatham Islands) has sent,a radio that the water steadily gained after midnight on Tuesday, and he beached the vessel at a -“- on Wednesday. The Rama was formerly H.M. gunboat Torch, a unit of New JNavy, and when her days as a ship of war were deemed to be at an end she was acquired by the Chatham Islands Fishing Company.
