The relief official of the St. Faith’s Board of Guardians, Norwich, called attention to the case of a farm labourer with a wife and eight children, ranging from 14 years to 14 months. The man’s wages were 25s a week, leaving 21s 7d' for food after insurance and rent had been paid. The guardians made an allowance of three and a half stones of flour weekly.
