FERRY STEAMER DELAYED. .CHRISTCHURCH, Nov! 19. A heavy south-westerly storm is sweeping Canterbury, with soaking rain. The Mararoa arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington over four hours late, having had to be hove to shortly after midnight through engine breakdown. DEATH BY POISONING. AUCKLAND, Nov. 19. A middle-aged man named Arthur Edward Varley committed suicide by poisoning at his home in Great North Road. Deceased’s wife said lie had no worries so far as she knew, and had always been of a cheerful disposition. EXPORT OF PRODUCE. _ WELLINGTON, Nov 19. In connection with the Order-in-Council recently gazetted, giving the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board limited control of the export of butter and cheese. Mr. T. C. Brash (secretary of the hoard) states that this limited control applies for marine insurance purposes only.
