'J’O those interested, the following extracts from a letter to a friend in Alton, written by one of the South Taranaki settlers who bought a farm from the Matarawa Laud Company, will speak for itself:— “I suppose you are on the same tracks as of yore, and the same work, cows, calves, pigs, and oh, I MUD. My dear old fellow, you don’t know how I appreciate the change up here. No mud, no wind, positively mild all through the winter and spring, and a real pleasure to work under such conditions. My cows here are doing absolutely better tlian down in Taranaki; bags of milk hard, and feed, gee, she does grow! When I think of that place I have just vacated, and see my rich pastures here, it makes me wonder why I was foolish so long. I do wish you were up here; you would put on a stone in weight, as it is wonderfully healthy, and your wife, it’s hard to say, but I believe it would certainly cure her sore throat. ’ : The writer of the above sold out at over £SO per acre, and bought in at less than half that. There are only FIVE Sections now imsold, and plans and full particulars _ can be obtained of W. A. LIMBRICK, MANAIA, who is Taranaki Representative for the sole agents, and who will be pleased to show the original letter, from which the above extracts have been taken, to any interested person.
