THE WORLD’S TANGLES.

STRAIGHTENING THEM OUT. AN INSPIRING ADDRESS. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., Nov. 19. At the Hawke’s Bay and AtanaWatu District Methodist Synod this morning the Rere Rugby Pratt spoke on “A confused but aspiring world.” After traversing world conditions, he said it was time the Churches took their task seriously. Never was there a greater need to eliminate waste effort and to co-ordinate all Christian activities, so as to inspire the community with tlie Christian ideal. Only the Church that bad this secret would create and redeem character. The Church was not bankrupt; her power was illimitable. Riches untold were hers, but she must draw upon these riches and harness the power within the Church. They wanted a better world, but that would not come of itself. Advance was not automatic, but must be worked for. The ills of the world could only be remedied as the kingship of Jesus Christ became a reality in individual lives Their religion must be interpreted in terms of service of the ideals of Jesus. AA’lren they were gripped by a. vision of the reign of God. and when they organised their forces for the service of an ideal, they would become an invincible power to straighten the world’s tangles and establish the reign of righteousness on the earth
