VESSELS AGROUND.
MISHAP TO THE OPUA. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS . ASSOCIATION. NELSON, Nov. 18. The Titoki, which passed Cape Farewell this morning, reports sighting the Opua aground five miles east of the Farewell light. Assistance was not accepted. Captain Vickerman, of the 'Titoki, is of opinion that the Opua will float off with the rising tide. The lighthouse was communicated with, but owing to the thick weather the stranded vessel could not be seen. A later message from Farewell Spit reports that the weather is still hazy, but to a certain extent a clear vision was obtained. There was no sign of the Opua. A vessel passed the Spit at 12.30 p.m. bound west. This; is believed to be the Opua, which apparently floated off on the rising tide. RAMA GROUNDS IN A GALE. VESSEL LEAKING BADLY.
