MAORIS ARRESTED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PREBS ASSOCIATIONDARGAVILLE, Nov. 18. Two Maoris were arrested last night, charged with alleged assault and robbery on George Denison, who alleges that the Maoris assaulted him and robbed him of money and a watch and chain. GUM-DIGGER’S SUICIDE. , DARGAVILLE, Nov. 18. Ivan Lulich, a Jugo-Slav, aged 32 and single, was found dead in a gumdigging camp on the West Coast Road last night. Deceased had shot himself with a double-barrelled shotgun by tieing a piece of string to his big toe and the trigger of the gun. The inquest revealed the fact that the deceased had been ill for some time, and had given up all hope of recovery. He left a letter stating his intention to take his life. After hearing the evidence by a surgeon and countrymen of the deceased, the coroner brought in a verdict that deceased took his life while mentally depressed through ilhealth. THIEVES IN A WAREHOUSE. GAUOKLAND, Nov. 18. Thieves entered the warehouse of Hutchinson Bros., Ltd.. Anzac Avenue, during the week-end. stealing £135 worth of tobacco and cigarettes. Entry was effected by breaking a window on the ground floor.
