POWER FOR ELTHAM.
SOME TIME BEFORE CHRISTMAS DAIRY CO’S. TEMPORARY SUPPLY “We consider, however, that consumers in the Eltham borough can depend on getting a supply SO me time before Christmas,” stated Messrs 'W. H. Climie and Son in their report on the temporary supply to Monday morning s meeting of the Taranaki Elec-tric-power Board. The report was as follows: Hie Eltham Dairy Co. have enlarged the entrance to their turbine pit, but it will be about two week s before they can give a full supply of water at the intake. After the turbine i tinners had been cleared of all stones and debris, the maximum output from this plant was 130 brake horse power, but until the dam is raised this output cannot be' maintained for any great time. J
“We consider, therefore, that a supply should not be given to consumers from this source until the dam is raised, or until the connection has been made with Tariki. We consider, however, that consumers m the Eltham borough can depend on getting a supply some time before Christmas.” the board adopted the report without discussion.—Argus.
