“THE PROBABLE NUISANCE.”
BOY SCOUTS’ HALL. SITE DECIDED ON. . decision with regard to the location of the .site of the. proposed > Boy Scouts’ HalL -was made by the Hawera Borough Council last : night, a borough section in Albion Street next to that leased to the New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency 'Co., Ltd., being 'allocated. It will be remembered that certain residents in Albion Street recently wated on the council and protected against a Boy Scouts’ hall, which they termed, “a probable nuisance,” being located alongside their residences. It was mentioned at last night’s meeting that the site now nominated would be some three or four chains away from the houses. ; The Mayor (Mr. L. A. Bone) said that the Boy Scouts Committee thoroughly understood that the building would he the property of the borough while it was on the council’s section, ancl that if at any time the council required the site for another purpose the building would have to be moved.
