Before the Royal Commission enquiring into the administration of Kew Asylum (where it was alleged that a doctor had been guilty of maladministration), Dr. Ellery said the alleged intoxicating liquor which the nurse said he had brought to the asylum was coidial. He. could not recollect telling any indecent story to a nurse. Patients had to he bathed in the open, while the bathroom was being repaired because- there was no place inside. He had performed certain operations on mile and female patients to demonstrate to nurses who were studying for their examinatidn.
