JOURNEY BY AIR.

LONDON TO AUSTRALIA

QUICK SERVICE PROMISED

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Nov. 10. ’ The Air Ministry's contribution to the Government’s Empire policy was outlined by Sir Samuel Hoare (Secretary of State for Air) at the Guildhall. He said the aim was to reduce the journey to Bombay by 10 days, and to Australia by 20 dav6. He declared that these were not fantastic dreams, but the foundations had already been laid.

The Government, he said, intended to demonstrate that in a few years it would be possible, to have as dependable an airship service between London and Bombay, taking 100 hours for the trip, as the present London-Paris aeroplane service.
