■ • »-• ' CLUB MATCH, ELTHAM v. KAPONGA. A team representing the Kaponga Club visited, the Eltham courts on Saturday afternoon and were defeated in an interesting match with the home club players. Favoured with beautiful weather, the play maintained a good standard, and in almost every instance the sets were closely contested, affording fnuch enjoyment to players and spectators. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea by the home club. In all 24 sets were played, Eltham with 147 games winning 14 sets, and Kaponga with 142 games securing 10 sets. Eltham won each of the six ladies’ singles sets, Kaponga winning five of the six gentlemen’s singles. In the ladies’ doubles Eltham won ali three sets, and in the gentlemen’s doubles Kaponga. won two out of three. Honours were even 'in the six combined doubles sets.
