MINISTER’S HOPE. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. TAURANGA, Nov. 10. At a banquet given by Messrs Armstrong, Whitworth ad Co., to ceLebrafe the turning of the first sod in their cantract, Hon J. G. Coates, in reply to the toast of his health, emphasised the necessity for pushing the works on to completion to make them* profitable. He. expressed gratification that the first railway contract should he in the hands of such a. firm as Armstrong's. Greenhough Company’s representative saict the- work would be in full swing by the end of the vear, and there was no reason to doubt but that ;• n m, would be com Dieted in due time. The viistors left yesterday morning on their way to Arapuni, and were to catch last night’s train for WHino 1 - ton. ■
