NEW HIGH LEVEL. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT _ Received Nov. 8, 10.15 a.m. MONTREAL, Nov. G. Sterling touched a new high level for the year at 4.'56-2; dollars and closed at 4.562 dollars, going up 8 cents over yesterday's gain. The movement is regarded as reflecting rather the genera! relief of the market than any change in the international situation, also optimism at the outlook for a foreign and political settlement in Britain and America. Other European changes emulated the sterling, bringing new high levels for Dutch and Swiss.
