NORMANBY BRANCH. An interesting meeting of the W.C.T.U. >vas held on Wednesday afternoon in the Presbyterian Hall, 14 being present. Mrs Scott presided. Correspondence from Mrs Jones and Mrs Dnxfield, re organiser’s visit was read; also from Mr 0. Hawlcen, M.P., and a telegram from the Premier, assuring the branch that its request would be duly noted when the legislation was being dealt with. Mrs Bevan was appointed superintendent of literature. The secretary reported that two sacks of clothing had been sent to the Willard Home, Palmerston North. The box was opened, the contributions amounting to 235,. which will be sent to Mrs Birdsall. Gifts were received of cakes, eggs and magazines for Hawera Public Hospital. Mrs Gane i 6 to convey them from the union. The meeting was closed with the Benediction, afternoon ' tea being served by Mrs Ballantyne, at the close of which the president expressed her thanks to all the members for their kind support during the year.
