ROYAL SHOW.

• LAST day. GREAT CROWDS. Glorious weather favoured the dousing day of the great show a.t Paimeistou North. Literally every road lecl t 0 the centre of rail and road ti affic, and all the morning huge crowds from town and country flocked to the show grounds, with the result chat the accommodation was taxed to the utmost. It was a gay and a great record crowd that was present all day. , . ll'he keenest regret was expressed on all sides that their Excellencies Lord and Lady Jellicoe were unexpectedly obliged to leave on Wednesday. They had enjoyed their visit on Wednesday and had been greeted 1 with enthusiasm. They both went round the grounds and took a lively interest in all the exhibits. The. riding competitions served to give a great display of jumping, a really magnificent entry of horses and a lot of capital riding. It was altogether a marked feature of the show, crack horses from many different parts being entered. The riding o.f the boys, too, was excellent, one especially clever youngster riding bareback over •all the jumps. The entries for the big hunters’ and leaping competition,, wire jumping, ami the Royal champion open hunters’ competition for the “Boomerang” silver cup and the society’s champion ribbon were very large and provoked keen emulation sufficient to make the work of horses and riders specially good.
