It is dbubtful whether the Republicans have a working majority in Congress. It is estimated that Mi 1 Coolidge polled 18,000,000 popular votes, Davis 8,000,000, Lafollette 4,000;000. Davis’s plurality in Tennessee was 10,000. Coolidge’s plurality ih California was 200,000, in Montana 60,000, in North. Dakota 150,000, ih Washington 1 0,000, in Utah 4000, in West Virginia 35,000, in Kentucky 2000. lowa re-elected the Republican contingent of eleven representatives, and Ramill. the Republican Governor. Ohio, despite its Republican Presidential plurality, re-elected Donahv (Democrat) Governor, i .Illinois elected three woniien to tile State Legislature. Mrs Ross .(Democrat) was leading Sullivan, her Republican opponent, for the Governorship. Wyoming returns indicate that l.afollptte will run second in North and South Dakota, and probably in seme other Western States. WASHINGTON, Nov. 5.
