It is dbubtful whether the Republicans have a working majority in Congress. It is estimated that Mi 1 Coolidge polled 18,000,000 popular votes, Davis 8,000,000, Lafollette 4,000;000. Davis’s plurality in Tennessee was 10,000. Coolidge’s plurality ih California was 200,000, in Montana 60,000, in North. Dakota 150,000, ih Washington 1 0,000, in Utah 4000, in West Virginia 35,000, in Kentucky 2000. lowa re-elected the Republican contingent of eleven representatives, and Ramill. the Republican Governor. Ohio, despite its Republican Presidential plurality, re-elected Donahv (Democrat) Governor, i .Illinois elected three woniien to tile State Legislature. Mrs Ross .(Democrat) was leading Sullivan, her Republican opponent, for the Governorship.
