TEACHERS’ SALARIES. TO BE INCREASED. COMPREHENSIVE PROPOSALS. (By Telegraph.—Special to the Star.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. The Government proposes to inci ease the salaries of school teachers in primary, secondary and technical schools to the extent of £50,000 per annum, in consonance with improvements in other branches of the public services. The increases, however, will be given in some grades only and not in all. and £450 per annum is roughly the dividing line. The annual inclement will be £lO instead of £ls, and the married allowance will be increased by £lO. Married head teachers will receive not less than £SO house allowance. Tlie salaries in certain country schools is to be increased to attract good teachers.
