V TO VISCOUNT JELLICOE. FUNCTIONS IN MANAWATU. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., Nov. o. The Governor-General (Lord Jellicoe), accompanied by Lady and: the Hon. Lucy Jellicoe, had a busy day of | f arewells at Palmerston North and in the Manawatu district to-day, the functions including a visit to Flock House, where the sons of deceased British, naval men are training as farmers; laying the foundation stone of the Palmerston North war memorial; and officially opening the Royal Show. His Excellency was presented with an address from the Manawatu A. and P. Association by the president (Mr J. A. Nash, M.P.), and with a life membership badge of the Royal Agricultural Society by Mi- W. Perry, of Masterton. On account of the Parliamentai'y session concluding to-morrow, His Excellency was obliged to return to Wellington this evening, and therefore was unable to participate in the arrangements which had been made for a civic fareweli_ to-morrow. The Mayor (Mr F. J. Nathan) and the "borough councillors fare welled the Governor-General prior to his departure by train, and the former presented an address.
