VALUED PRIVILEGES

The address delivered at the Borough Chambers last evening by Mr. Barton, S.M., was the concluding address of the session in connection with the Huwera Accountant Students' Association, and it, is a fitting moment to recognise the good work done on behalf of the community by this as-ocia-tion iii arranging for ,a, series of addresses so helpful to students in accountancy and to commercial men generally. The association has done good work, and the fact, emphasised by the chairman, that attendances have shown a steady increase demonstrates that the privileges placed within reach are valued. For a quite nominal sum business men can become associated with the association and share in defraying the cost attached to maintaining a continuity of similar progi-famines session by session. In this connection we can heartily • endorse the remarks made by the Mayor and Mr. E. Dixon, and urge that more of the employers should Allow their practical sympathy by becoming subscribers, and also by attending the addresses. Knowledge is power unquestionably, and the gain in knowledge possible by attendance at tho<=e addresses is very considerable. We look upon the association as a. valuable asset to the business community, and will he glad if any word i of ours will encourage its responsible officers in their good work. AYe wish also to join in the thanks expressed to those' gentlemen who have prepared ami delivered the various addresses.
