A strange drug which destroys fear and creates valour is reported to have been discovered in South America. Results Of a diagnostical study of this recently-discovered drug are to he laid before the Convention of the American V harmaceutical Association in Buffalo. Chemical tests of the drug are at n resent being made in New York The drug is called “Caani,” and is obtained from a plant growing in the central part of the basin of the Amazon It is also called “Syahuasos ” and it was discovered by the Mulford Expedition m its recent explorations of the Amarnn basin ; In South-Eastern Colombia Caam is drunk freely by the natives for the purpose of putting them in proper trim to drive away devils.
