EMPRESS GOES TO LAW. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Nov. 5, 10.35 a.m. MADRID, Nov. 4. The Empress Zita is suing a leading jewel broker in Madrid for the unlawful detention, of many priceless jewels, including the Golden Fleece Cross of Pearls, which are estimated to be worth a million sterling; also the famous Frankfort Diadem. It is alleged that during the exile of the Empress in Switzerland Baron Steiner, Karl’s financial adviser, contrary to instructions, pledged the jewels for 80,000 sterling. ’Karl learned of liis loss when on his deathbed. Among missing . treasure's is 'the Hapsburg opal worth £200,000, known as the cursed opal owing to its tragic history. '
