The usual severity and dignity of the Auckland Choral Society’s 'performance was disturbed for a while on Tuesday evening (states the Star) during the attempt to sing the duo “Sainted Mother,” and for a while the scene was quite exciting. Two attempts were made to render the duo, but owing -to some misunderstanding about the cut made the singers were at variance, and nothing hut dissonance reigned for a while. The conductor found it impossible to proceed, so gave up the attempt, after which he was assailed by the two ladies, who excitedly rushed to his desk and, vehemently slapping their score, tried to explain the mistake, protesting that neither was wrong. After a little head shaking and quiet response by the director the ladies resumed tfieir seats, and the performance continued. REACHES THE SPOT. If you are troubled with rheumatism remember that ' Chamberlain’s Pain Balm will reach the spot and stop the pains and aches immediately. If you first bathe the affected parts freely with very hot water, Chamberlain’s Pain Balm will penetrate more quickly, and the relief will be found speedier. Said everywhere.
