(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOWN BOARD. At the monthly meeting of the board there were present: Commissioners C. J. Preston (chairman) P. J. Leydon, % Lloyd and A. Hill. Mr. L. Slinger wrote informing the board that a resident was grazing three cows on the streets. —The clerk wlas instructed to inform Mr. Slinger that the hoard intended to take drastic measures against all persons grazing more than two registered cows on the streets. Mrs. E. A. Free applied for permission to fence off a portion of Weld Street, for which she was prepared to pay a nominal rental.—The matter was left in the hands of the works committee with power to act. Mrs. R>. Hayes wrote asking the board to instal an electric light at the corner of Hunter and Fitzroy Streets. —lt was resolved to hold this over till next meeting. On the motion of Crs. Preston and Leydon the cattle registration for the ensuing year was fixed at £T per head. All chains and tags are to be returned to the clerk before new legist rations can be effected. No cattle are to be allowed out on race days, and any unregistered cattle grazing on the streets after November 10 will be impounded without further notice. The clerk was instructed to write to Constable Pidgeon asking him to take action against fall persons having unregistered stock grazing on the streets. The chairman’s action in oi'dering a few loads of metal for patching purposes was confirmed. It was resolved that the chairman wait on the Hawera County Council in connection with the council’s account against the Town Board. Tb was left in the hands of Cr» Hill and the clerk to procure six dozen cattle tags. Accounts to> the amount of £23 2 s scl were passed for payment. DOMAIN BOARD. Two tenders were received for the lease of Victoria Park for the ensuing t'vplve months. From Mr. C. Arden £l2 15s and Mr. A. Crocker £l4 10s 6d.—The board decided to accept Mr. A. Crocker’s tender.
