CALCUTTA TEA SALES. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT CALCUTTA. Oct. 29. At the tea ‘sales the quality was generally poorer compared with the previous sale, and the demand was hardly so strong. The market is irregular, but is inclined to be easier, especially common kinds. Stalky sorts, well made black leaf, mange pekoes and others are showing .an improvement, and are keenly competed for. Dusts are dearer and tannings easier. The average for the commonest leaf is 13 annas 3 pice to 13 annas 9 pice.; broken leaf 14 annas 6 pice to 15 annas, ordinary common pekoes souohing 13 annas 6 pice to 14 armafi, lowest even leaf pekoe 15 annas 6 pice to 15 annas 9 pice.
