GIRL DISAPPEARS. SEQUEL TO CRIMINAL CASE. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Oct. 30. The mysterious disappearance of a s:irl named Ethel Mav Lane, aged 1.5£, from the Supreme Court building on Wednesday morning is causing great concern to her relatives. The girl was to have been an important witness in a criminal trial from Waihi, but she did not have to give evidence as the accused pleaded guiltv. He was sentenced to twelve months’ reformative detention, and on leaving the dock is stated to have called out to the girl, “Good-bye. Ethel.” She was considerably affected and became somewhat hysterical.
After leaving the court-room the girl was seen bv her brother to go into the ladies’ Avaiting-room, but since then all trace of her has been lost.
