WAHABIS DETERMINED.
NEGOTIATIONS FAIL. BY CABLE—PRES 3 ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT (Received Oct. 31, 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, Oet. 30. Advices from Port Soudan state that an attempt by tho leading residents of Jeddah and Mecca to arrange terms with the Wahabis failed. A representative Wahabi in Mecca states that peace is impossible while Ali remains .on the throne. This appears an insurmountable obstacle. Jeddah has not been placed in a state of defence, but military preparations are being made to resist a threatened attack. Reinforcements are coming to Jeddah from Akaba. Many of the population are leaving.
