OPERA HOUSE, HAWERA. TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NEXT. RINGLAND’S VAUDEVILLE AND CIRCUS. Ringland’s celebrated Vaudeville- and circus de Luxe, which is reported to have been creating quite-a sensation during its tour of the Dominion, opens a short season ; in Hawera at the Opera House on Tuesday and Wednesday• The company comes. with the reputation, of giving an entertainment that is bright, clean and novel. Included in the company are many artists with an international reputation. On the bill are acrobats, gymnasts, a ventriloquist, jugglers, a conjurer, a trapeze artist, performing dogs, a character sketch artist, a duo of instrumentalists, a saxoohone, soloist, and a pair of downs. It is claimed for these artists that they represent the cream of the vaudeville stage and the circus arena. Patrons will be able to enjoy all the pleasures and thrills of a circus without any of the dangers and discomforts so essentially a part of the tent circus' performance on a wet and stormy night. This class of entertainment has attained immense popularity on the Continent of Europe, and Rihglands, who a,re its pioneers in Australasia, are evidently giving to the public of this country a type of show that is meeting with unqualified approval. The Hawera season is for two nights only, and the prices of admission are exceptionally reasonable for such an entertainment. GRAND THEATRE—TO-NIGHT. “THE DANGEROUS BLONDE.” Laura La Plante, the screen’s newest star, who has had just one previous starring appearance before the public in “Excitement,’’ is to be seen at the Grand Theatre to-night in “The Dangerous Blonde.” It is a Universal picture—Miss La Plante has appeared exclusively in Universal pictures for the past few years. In “The Dangerous Blonde” Miss La Plante is a college girl who is called home by her father to help him keen from getting into trouble with his wife on account of another woman! Hulbert Eootner took advantage of the unique situation of a girl helping her father against her mother to write into his story, published as “A New Girl in Town/ 5 for Argosy Magazine, a fast combination of laughs and heart interest. The story was adapted bv Hugh Hoffman and directed by Robert F. Hill, who made “Excitement.” A strong cast supports. An excellent supporting programme will be presented.
