In their first innings England made 397, and West Australia replied with 139 (Loton 38, Evans 21, Drew 18). Following on West Australia made 69 (Blundell 23, Evans 14). Tate took three wickets for 10 runs and Freeman three for 23. The bowling analysis in the West Australian first innings was: Giliigan three for 20, Freeman six for 47. Freeman’s length was always good. He turned the ball a good deal, and at one time had four for 11 _ He bowled twenty-one overs. Chapman made a particularly good catch at fine slip. PRIMARY SCHOOLS. At Kaponga, on Saturday, the home school eleven, with a total of 93 runs in a match of two innings, defeated Okai.awa school bv 14.
