“PLAY UP.”
MR BALDWIN’S MESSAGE. MR MACDONALD AND LIBERALS. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT. (Received Oct. 25, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 24. Mr Baldwin had an enthusiastic send-off from Euston station on his departure on a tour of Scotland and North England lasting till polling day. He sent a message to his supporters containing the words of his old school song, “Play un, you fellows, play up.” Mrs Baldwin sent a message to women: ‘‘Work to keep Britain for the British.” Mr MacDonald, in a speech at Cwmados, declared that the Liberals had sold themselves, and unless Labour was in Parliament in full force the country was going into the hands of a dangerous reaction which would affect the whole of Europe. It was not only in danger of protection, but there was also a danger to international peace. .The country would be running grave risk if the Conservatives.were returned.
