MANGATOKI BRANCH. (From the Branch Secretary.) A meeting of the apove branch was held on Thursday, everii'ri'g. Mi*. W. E. Carter, presided over a good attendance of members,. The, nieetirig xx'as balled principally to receive 'a report, and programme drawn up -by a coirimittee consisting of Messrs,T, Liriri, C.. McGuiriness, W. Carter, Ci Nicholas, W, Hoskin, A. T. Sulzberger, and H. Thrush in connection. with, the fqrthedriiirig sboW. The programme as■ submitted: ihet with; the general approval of the irieeting and’ elicited - a Tqir,’ariiburity'pl ; useful diseiission. . ’ It was decided;, to present certificates of merit to the. placed, animals, Messrs T. Linni and H. 'Thrush -to attend to the procuring of. certificates. The president agreed to arrange for the .first. prize in the; school children’s pony event, xvhiie Mr; T. Feaver kindly donated a second prize.* Messrs T. Linn: and; C. E, McGuinness agreed to-, endeavour ,to secure 'a. special prize for Rest dairy ..cow, any breed. . 7 ; . The matter of advertising xvas left in the hands of the chairman and secretary. ■■ Mr B. H. Parker at this stage kindly consented to lend his paddock adjoining .the hall for the purpose of. holding the, shoxv, and on the motion of Messrs C. ’Carlson and E. H.- Ousey a resolution xvas passed thanking Mr. Parker for his generosity.: The committee appointed. to draxv .'rip the programme xvas also further- appointed an advisory committee to attend to any matters that may come -up for consideration. • , Mr. T. Feaver also kindly, donated one guinea toxvaids the shoxx;. The following programme-was agreed to :—Pedigree Jerseys y.Bull .born prior to July 31, 1922.; bull boin since July 1, 1923; hull 1 born since July: 1, 1924. Friesians: Bull born prior to July .31, 1922; bull born- since July 1, 1923: bull born since July 1, 1924. Best Jersey, heifer, in milk, born since July 1, 1922; best. Friesian heifer; in.-milky born sinco July 1,71922; best- pair heifers (any breed) born since July 1, 1923, to lie judged on dairy type; best dairy cow, any.breed; best heifer calf, (for school children), any breed, horn since July. 1,1924 best spring cart horse, from ioexyt. upxvards, to be shown and drix-en in harness and spring dray, open to all Rprses that hax*e nex*er won in a shoxv ring: best school child’s pony, to be ridden by .girl ,or boy. •
