JACKIE COOGAN.
VISIT TO LONDON. Jackie Coogan, the 9-year-old film actor, is noAv crossing the Atlantic in the United States steamer Leviathan, and will arrive in London for a week’s visit (said the Daily Mail of recent date). . He is making his first trip t° Europe, and his primary object is to distribute food and clothing for an American Near East relief fund. The sum of £250,000 has been subscribed for this purpose, and the goods Avhieli have been bought are being brought across the Atlantic. A suite of twelve rooms has been taken at the Savoy Hotel, Strand, for Jackie, his father and mother, his governess, an EnglishAvoman, Miss Cora Newell, and his secretary. He will spend much of his time in seeing the sights, and is very keen to see the changing of the Guard in Whitehall. He is under contract to make four neAv films in tAvo years at £31,250 a picture. Actually,* all the money that he has for himself is £4 10s a. week, Avith 2s 6d for any bit of “business” which he invents for his films., The hulk of his salary is invested for him. After his week in London. Jackie Coogan goes to ’Paris; Greece, Syria, and Palestine.
