LESSONS BY RADIO.
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME. SYDNEY, Oct. 3. From Thursday next there will be lessons in the air which anyone may hear with the aid of a suitable wireless set. Literature, geography, history, anture study, hygiene, and music will be treated, in “crisp lectures,” according to the tempting official stetementThe development in the output of investigation set afoot by Mr. Bruntnell, Minister of/F,ducation. The educational session will extend from 3 to 3.30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week during the remainder of this school year. The programme prepared for the current month will he directed mainly to the pupils who are completing their primary course, though an occasional interlude for younger pulils will lie given. The leeturettes will he on topics supplementary to the school work. Occasionally demonstrations in the teaching of singing and actual lessons to pupils grouped at the broadcasting studio will lie given. A lesson esoecihlly for high schools is set apart for October 28, when a French dictation exercise Avill lie broadcasted. Both solo and choral singing, as well as verse speaking, by selected school music and poetry, and, at the same time, vary the general procedure.
