MB. PIPER’S MISSION. The services in connection with Mr. Piper s sac-recl song campaign were continued in the Methodist** Church yesterday. Large congregations gathered at both morning and cveniim services. . At 1.45 p.m. Mr. Piper, accompanied by Rev. Gosnell, conducted a service at Normanbv, the Town Hall being well filled. Mr. Piper did not spare himself, but taught choruses and sang several solos. Mr. Gosnell captivated the hearts of the Nonnauby people with his breezy and helpful talks. At 3 p.m. the missioners met tlie Sunday school in Hawera and spent a very pleasant hour 'in the school hall. Hie Sunday's programme concluded with “A Great After‘Church Bally in the Opera House at S.3Q p.in., when there was a large congregation of all .denominations. Bov. Gosnell pres ideal and gave a brief but memorable talk, especially to the young men. Mr. Piper, as in all the other meetings, sans several solos with telling effect. The mission will conclude on Wednesday night in the Methodist Church at / .30 with a. great thaniisgiving soryice To-night Mr. Piper, assisted by leading Hawera artists, will give a concert in the Presbyterian'’Hall, ivlien the public will have an opportunity of hearing him in a programme of classical and popular music. Mr. Piper was a pupil of the Sydnev Gonservatorium; also a student ’ under Signor Barakli, the famous' Italian master at the Guildhall School of Music. At the conclusion of his New Zealand tour Mr. Piper goes to America and England. Mu&ic lovers should not miss the opportunity of hearing this artist in the secular roles. The small charge of admission is being made towards the expenses of the “Gospel in Song Campaign.” The combined choirs, under Mr Hutton, sang a couple of anthems, and interest was added to the proceedings by a duet By Messrs Piper and Newberry!
