For the third day of the Y.A.T.C. spring 'meeting there was r.n‘ enormo-us attend a nc4 and the weather was fine. The Governor-General, the State Govenor, and Mr G. I>. Greenwood were present.' The going was good. Triangle led all the way in the: Nursery Handicap and won easily. Triangle. comes from Adelaide, and is engaged in the Maribyrnong Plate. Great excitement was in evidence during the course of the Caulfield Cup. race, for which Lanidae, The Monk, Yacamuntla. and Miss Disraeli were scratched. The crowd took a great interest as the race, progressed. Purser, who was last at one stage, ran to the. front in the straight, and won brilliantly. Purser is owned- by,. Ty-e aud Ccrteen and is trained by Cecil Godby. G. Young, the New Zealand jockey, Who rode the ' winner, stated that he had a good ride, though he had the race won three furlongs from home. ; This is'Young’s thirteenth win on this trip.
