CAUSES SHOPMAN’S ARREST. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Oet. 18. Marked money was the cause of the arrest of a married man, aged 42, who admitted this morning that he stole 10s, the property of his employers, Hannah and Co. The police stated that the firm had had a big shortage in receipts. A detective purchased a pair of boots' from the accused and paid for them in marked money, and accused put a docket in for a pair of hoy’s hoots valued at 18/6, whereas the hoots received cost 28/6. Accused was remanded, and his name ordered to be suppressed in the meantime.
