MR WINSTON CHURCHILL. BACK TO A FOLD. LONDON, Sept. 25. Since Mr- Winston Churchill’s adoption as Conservative candidate for the lipping division lie has gained considerable publicity in all sections of the Press. His record as a political “quickchange artist” is fully exploited by the Liberal and Labour newspapers. The Manchester Guardian’s political correspondent says that one of the elder Tories gave some realistic a lid outspoken views on Mr Churchill’s rejoining of the Conservative Party. “Mr Churchill,” he said, * ? has changed five times. This is an interesting historical revival, as the Duke of Marlborough changed fourteen- times. Our times have become as fluid. politically as,Queen Anne’s.” The possibility of Mr ClnircliiTl becoming Tory leader is not discounted. It seems that the Carlton Clnb is ready to let bygones be bygones, and welcome the lamb which strayed from the fold.
