BOXING.
The Hawera Boxing Association has a good programme to present to patrons this evening. A great deal of trouble ha,s arisen in the course of pi'eparation, as influenza, has made its presence felt in one or two- instances. There are a number of promising aspirants coming forward, and it is said that more than one surprise will be forthcoming. The contests will be found to be well balanced, and as most of the preliminary bouts will be between boys noted for their ginger and pugnacity, a, feast of exciting work kin 6tore for “fans.” Mr. Foley will be referee, and the other officials are well known, so the assurance that affairs are in capable hands is taken for granted.
