More sheep were despatched from the Waipukuraii railway station for the past railway year than from any other station in the North Island, a true criterion that the busy centre is the heart of the pastoral country of the North Island (says the Napier Telegraph). The number of sheep trucked was 172,065, whilst 6493 cattle were also railed away. ■
