As will be seen in our advertising columns, acceptances for Waverley Racing Club’s meeting on Labour Day will close on Friday at 8 p.m. The postponed steeplechase in connection with the Technical High School will take place to-morrow at 2.45 p.m. Mr. Eric Hodder left Hawera on Saturday, having secured an important position in Masterton, entering into partnership with one of the oldest commercial houses on the East Coast. Whilst his many friends will regret to learn of his leaving the town and district, where he has been universally popular,- he will carry their very best wishes for every success in his new sphere.
