A crowd of 500 Labour supporters gave Mr. MacDonald a hearty sendoff from Euston station this morning for Glasgow, to commence his whirlwind electioneering tour of Scotland and Wales, accompanied by hi s daughter Ishbel and his son Alistair, Lord Arnold, and Mr. William Graham. * The Premier, in a speech, said: “This is the biggest fight the Labour Party has ever had: They have never begun a fight better spirited. The Campbell case lias nothing to do with the Government’s defeat. The other two parties decided that the life of this Parliament must be ended because a Labour Government was in power and doing so well. Labourites are .now challenging them in the country "to do their worst. We have dome to stay, and I am perfectly certain that bv'a sane appeal to alLjhe patriotic elements in the State we are going ; to return substantially strengthened. I never felt more like thinking ‘Now’s tlie day and now’s the hour, see the front of battle lour.’ ” The crowd sang “For he’s a jolly "ood fellow” and “The Red Flag.” Mr. MacDonald was presented with a bouquet of red geraniums He sent a message to London Labourites, saying : “Fight hard, fight well; keep your principles high. They will hit below the lielt all the time, hut don’t you do the same.”
