SPIRIT OF SPORT.
LORD JELLICOE’S WARNING. (by telegraph:—press associationReceived Oct. 13, i. 30 p.m. DUNEDIN, Oct. 13. At a farewell social tendered on Saturday flight by the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Lord Jellicoe proffered a friendly ivarnihg. He said he had admired very ifluch the spirit of sportsmanship among yachtsmen in New Zealand, and there was only cine word of warning 110 would like to add —that tlie yachtsmen should never forget it was hut a sport. They should confine their attention to the whole sport and not make too many rules and regulations. Once they got into close regulations the thing had rather a professional tone about it, and disputes arose, and the spirit of sportsmanship was apt to becomei lessened.
