"William John Steffens, aged 19, was killed at Pudding Hill yesterday as the result of his bicycle skidding in loose shingle. Deceased dislocated his neck mid death was almost instantaneous. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned. MAN’S BODY. FOUND. DARGAYILLE, Oct. 13. The body cf a mail named Walter Hayden, who had been missing from Ruawai for several, days, was picked ip bv the steamer Monica near Raupo, about four miles further up the Wairoa River, this morning.
