MOTOR DRIVER KILLED.
LORRY TOPPLED OVER BANK. PASSENGERS’ NARROW ESCAPE. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Oct. 13. A motor lorry, which was returning i Ol i l Paekakariki to Plimmerton, toppled down a steep bank near the latter place. The driver, F. C. Garland, aged 21, of Wellington, was badly injured, and died in the train on his way to Wellington. Three others, single men, were considerably knocked about. One, J. O’Connor, a civil servant, had only recently recovered from a serious operation. G. Tinney, another civil servant, dislocated his shoulder. All are recovering.
