SWEDISH TIMBER. FOR DOMINION BUTTER BOXES. (BY 7 TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. DARGAVILLE, Oct. 10. This Aveek the Northern Wairoa Dairy Company landed 238 tons of SAvedish pine for use for this season’s output of buter. This is the first time foreign timber has been used for butter boxes locally. It is expected the quantity Avill be sufficient for the season’s output of 2000 tons. The imported timber is whiter and lighter than Avhite pine, and the cost is considerably less. Tlie saAvmill. at Donnelly’s-Crossing, a fine up-to-date, mill, AA'hich has been running about. tAvo years, closed doAvn last night. Nothing i s known as to the future of the mill, Avhether it AA'ill be sold to pi-jvate enterprise or pulled down. There are still millions of feet available for cutting in close proximity, tp the mill. It is not lcnoAvn Avhy the mill has been closed. It is a distinct loss to the district, as the monthly pay out Avas £3OOO sterling.
