As to whether trustees should be permitted to lend money to, boards, Mr Massey said the. matter must be uererred to. the Treasury Department. I ersonally, he thought board’s securities were quite good enough. Me agieed something must be done legardilo * ees °t native, patients. There had been a proposal to place maternity loines under the con tool of hospital boards, and he thought this a good •suggestion, as the boards were Quite competent, to deal with them. Quite Jikeiy a .Bill would be brought down his session to deal, with superannuation tor nurses, but the only difficulty was m regard to nurses working oil their own behalf. Regarding social rt.yrtne, ho said the position was not very satisfactory, and compulsory notihcation might be necessary, and’people who objected must put up with the consequences.
