The Liberal amendment moved by Sir John Simon that a select coning he appointed to investigate the "withdrawal of proceedings against Campbell, editor of ■ the Workers’ Weekly, was carried by 364 votes to 198. WHICH ARMY? PITZZLE FOR, A PACIFIST. ASSOCIATION OF IDEAS. (Received Oct. 9. 1.10 pm) ' , ■ LONDON, Oct. 8. At the Labour Conference Mr Campbell, editor of the '.Workers’ Weekly, attacked the Labour Government in connection with military expenditure. He alleged' that troops had been used in industrial disputes, and asserted that the 'Government continued Mr. Baldwin’s army policy. Mr. Clynes replied denouncing the curious mentality which advocated pacifism at the conference, but outside the- conference applied it to working to build up an army with a view to class' domination. The matter dropped after Mr. Clynes had spiritedly defended the Government’s policy in connection with armaments, ' . -
