During tlie hearing of a claim for damages at the Auckland Magistrate’s Court the plaintiff asked for £5 - a week for the whole of the time he was unable to work as the result of injuries received through being knocked down by a motor car (states the Star). He said he was a bottle-dealer by occupation, and his average earnings were £6 a week. Mr Hunt, S.M., remarked: “I suppose, if you were here on a judgment summons, your earnings would be about seven and six.” “BOY” CHARLTON AND HENRY.
