OVERSEAS TEAM. (BY ASSOCIATION.) WItLLINGTON, Oct. 6. The matter of securing a good overseas athletic: team for the coming season is engaging the attention of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. At to-night’s meeting it was stated that the council was waiting to hear from Australia if there was any prospect of getting the Olympian athletes to visit the Dominion. Mr Merrett said he did not think there was the slightest change of getting Nurmi. Negotiations aire also proceeding with California to sec if they could get a sprinter, hurdler, jumper, miler and two. miler. It appeared that a team could he got from this quarter if desired. Others preferred airranging to get a British or African team, not forgetting Australia, and negotiations with this in -view will be opened at the vari ous centres.
